Design is the iterative process of developing and more clearly understanding how we interact with the world around us.

We design spaces fo you, based on your needs and what you want to draw from your garden.  Emphasizing sustainable, regenerative practices and using local materials, native plants.  Low water usage, zero waste, supposing healthy ecologies.

Nothing ever really goes away.  Things move and change, but they never cease to be.  So much of our lives is about hiding this reality, but I think there is tremendous peace in understanding where things come from and where they go.  In a garden, we learn to appreciate the connection between the land and what it produces, how it sustains us, and what happens to it.  This can be a metaphor for the transfer of energy in complex systems or the very practical observation that all the waste has to go somewhere.  From the Meta to the Micro, the endless process of becoming is a reality and a power that we tap into by engaging intentionally with the spaces around us.  I love to embrace the full swing of a garden, from the tiny joy of the first seeds to the satisfaction of a fall clean up.  In winter when the world is bleakest is the best time to build big structures and prepare for the summer.  In the abundance of the harvest is when we think about and prepare for the scarcity to come.  Killing your plants is as frustrating as breeding pests, and to me both represent a breakdown in the process of becoming that the most beautiful gardens embrace.  Life is a balancing act, but not the balance of a scale on a static axis.  Life is balanced in a dynamic movement through patterns, and finding the joy in the movements and their iterations is how one makes best sense of the elements of a garden.
